Always been a Palaeo Nerd!

Going through boxes of old family photographs and came across this classic. In 1978 a 14-year-old Palaeo Paul won my age group for my fossil collection in a competition run by the Australian Museum. The competition was open for any natural history collection so my fossils were up against collections of butterflies and insects, rocks, pressed flowers and all kinds of wonderful things. 

As explained here https://palaeopictures.com/productions/fossils-with-palaeo-paul/, my fossil collection started before I was born and I found my first fossil when I was six but my fossil collecting really took off after my family moved to Australia in 1973. This really is a case of a life-long hobby and interest becoming a career in science and science communication!
